What is Optical Bonding?

Some factors can affect displays’ readability. The most common reason is “fog”, or "condensation". Another factor is the reflection of sunlight. Both issues can be solved by using optical bonding. 

Optical bonding is implemented by either liquid or sheet form OCA. Optical bonding is the process that touch panel and LCD panel together with optical clear adhesives. Optical Bonding use liquid gel to laminate/affix the cover glass or touchscreen on the front of the LCD panel. It eliminates air gap between the touch panel and the display.


In addition, optical bonding can dramatically reduce the internal reflections and helps improve brightness and contrast ratio of display, enhance system ruggedness, strengthen shock and vibration resistance.

What are the benefits of optical bonding?

Optical Bonding eliminates the reflections between display and touchscreen and reduces glare effects and mirror images. It can increases sunlight readability.
